Improving on-time tram performance with AVLC

Stadtwerke Augsburg in Southern Germany operates a network of around 200 vehicles, carrying approximately 54 million passengers per year.

Background

Stadtwerke Augsburg required a vehicle location system that would fully automate vehicle location and control.

This entailed upgrading an existing legacy system to integrate with the Trapeze Automatic Vehicle Location and Control (AVLC) solution, and updated Real Time Passenger Information (RTPI) signs.
